Check-up!

Well this post is WAY over do...

I have not done a post since my Mom's surgery and for everyone who is reading and following along, I owe you one.

My Mom's surgery actually went really well, she got her right breast removed and until this day is not happy about it. She's still wishing that they just took both of them off so she can look young again...ah love that woman.

She stayed there over night and my Dad was with her, I had to go pick her up after work the next day which was fine except for the fact that I got lost so they had to wait for me (my bad).

The first 2 weeks was amazing! It was like my Mom never had the surgery! Everyone who talked to her was shocked! We all were! She was doing so great! But after the second week, she was in terrible pain. It was really hard.

She had 2 tubes in her to drain out the fluid from the site. They were only supposed to be in for about 10-12 days but they keep them in longer and it got infected.

Thank God she didn't have to go to the hospital, the nurse gave her antibiotics so she's doing quite well right now and we're keeping an even closer eye on her.

I think this is the toughest part, I thought the chemo part was hard but this is harder and not just on her but my Dad too, all of us. But we're getting by and it's only because of God.

On Sundays she watches our church from Live Stream and it's hard for her because she REALLY wants to be there and worship but just watching at home gets her excited, too excited where I have to remind her not to because she might tear something. Imagine if she was actually AT church in the service O.O

What I have learned during this time is that even though you may feel good and feel you can take the world on, you can't. Not yet. You may feel good but you have to give your body time to completely heal cause if you don't it's going to take you even longer to heal.

My mom thought she could take on the world right after the surgery cause she felt good and I guess I thought the same thing too which is why I didn't stop her as much but in the end it might have set her back in the healing process.

But other than that she's doing good! She's getting a lot of support and love even from family in Alberta who are sending her edible art! (flowers), chocolate and flowers.

I also really appreciate my friends who I'm going out with cause sometimes I really just need that time away to regain my sanity (jokes, just regain what left I ever had of a social life)

WE WENT TO ANIME NORTH! IT WAS CRAZY AND SO AWESOME...except...I forgot my memory card at home so I couldn't take any pictures :(

My mom goes for a check-up soon so I'll keep posted about what follows :)

Blessings!
