Movie Review - Jurassic World

Another movie review and I need to write this fast before I lose the passion!

Warning! There may be spoilers so if you haven't seen it yet, you're the only one. Go see it, now!

So I felt it was pretty bad working at a movie theatre and guests asking me if this movie is good or if I've seen this and I couldn't reply, especially when I explained how much I love movies and want to help create them in the future. So I started tonight with Jurassic World!

Basically it's about the Park 22 years from the first film in 1993 and how the audience is slowing down so they build a new attraction, a genetically modified Dino called the "Indominus Rex" that is basically a killing machine and goes free on a murderous rampage.

I took down some notes on my way home so I wouldn't forget...

I loved the movie, it was great and what made me love it more was the references to the older movies. Keeping the connections to past characters and story line, it just makes the movie that more enjoyable and memorable. People who haven't seen the past movies will wonder what some stuff mean and those who have I'm sure will be happy to make the connection. And it's funny because the references and connections are EVERYWHERE! Almost in every other scene there's something that's connected to the other movies or the past characters themselves.

They also have a really great connection with the humans and the dinosaurs. I'm sure other movies do too but I'm talking about this movie! They do have a few with scenes with Chris Pratt's character and the Raptors but the scene I'm talking about is the when Owen and Claire go to the dying long neck dinosaur which I believe is called a Brachiosaurus. The music and no words being said, the scene is so touching, I know I'm a baby but the scene will make you cry. The way the dino slowly dies is almost...human. The Claire who is portrayed as this strong independent woman who feels nothing for the animals even cries. I loved it, best scene.

Now! About the stuff I didn't like so much...

I watched it in 3D (no choice, all the other showing for 2D was done) NO! I was so mad! I did not like it! Watching it in 3D, to me, looked like it was still being rendered! Some stuff just looked so fake to me! It was distracting and I didn't like it.

The storyline or the theme I guess about "playing God," creating something only for it to be turned against you, so cliché. Used all the time in movies nowadays and more recently in Avengers: Age of Ultron, when Tony tried to create "a suit of armor" around the world but in the end it backfired. I believe it is safe to say that we should leave the playing "God" thing to the man himself, God because clearly us humans suck at it.

And another thing is turning everything into a weapon. Anything they can create or control to use it as a weapon, to fight the wars that we can't but not realizing the consequences. That's what they wanted to do with the Raptors in the movie and I guess in a way they did but it backfired on them as the Indominus Rex turned them against them.

The movie also had a few of these: PLOT HOLES! I may be wrong with some of them, please correct me if I am, I'll correct them again when I own the movie on Blu-ray.

1. How did the Indominus Rex know how to eat her sibling when she was only being feed by a crane with a piece of meat on it?

2. The boys were saying that the parents were getting a divorce but there was nothing in the movie indicating that. UNLESS when Claire was talking to her sister on the phone she was in a meeting with her lawyers but it didn't seem that way.

3. Was the older brother, Zach, cheating on his girlfriend?!

4. There's a part where the person on the intercom says the Ferry is coming in 45mins. and I swear that was said in bright day light, but the next scene was it was the dead of night! It completely threw me off but hey...I could be wrong.

5. WAS SHE RUNNING THE ENTIRE TIME IN HER HIGH HEEL SHOES?! When you watch it you will understand, it makes absolutely no sense to me cause there is NO way she could be walking, running for so long and so hard in those heels and they don't break...VERY unrealistic. And I should know, I'm a girl, I wear heels and I've broke one just by walking.

6. Where DO they go from here? Does Clarie and Owen live happily ever after? Do they try to rebuild the park again? Do they go find Dr. Henry who was taken away in the helicopter with all the other dino experiments and research? Does she have kids? What about all the other Dinosaurs still on the island? About the ones that are still loose?!

I'm sure I'm missing some but this is what I got. Other than that, it was a good movie. I do think it is getting too much hype. Yes, it's a good movie and better than the last two films but it's almost just like any other action type movie. It's like Frozen, it's a good movie but I don't think it deserves so much hype.

If you've seen it, please watch the HISHE video on it, it's really funny I love their work:

I hope you guys enjoyed this review and please if you have anything to say about the movie or my review, please, please comment.

Stay Bless!
