Avengers: Age of Ultron - Movie Review
This post is way over due for this that came out months ago in theatres and weeks ago on DVD release but I couldn't do a post before I had seen it at least three times to make sure I get everything and now I watch the movie at least twice a week!
Because this is a movie review so if you haven't seen it yet (crazy!) beware spoilers!
Being a superhero/super villain/Marvel/DC and everything else under the sun I had to see this movie. I saw in this really big theatre with my family and while one of my newphews really enjoyed it, my other family members liked Jurassic World better.
Let's just get this one thing off the table right now, OBVIOUSLY this one was not going to be better than the first! Let's be honest now, you would have liked this one way better if you didn't see the first one. I love both so I'm good 😁 though the more I watch this the more I think I'm watching a futuristic bible movie.
There are so much references to the bible and God in this film I almost lost it! Which I get cause I know there's a connection to some superheroes and the bible ( for example Superman and Jesus, I'm serious look it up) but this movie really just threw it in your face and not just the ones that were obvious like the when Ultron gets the vibrainum (bible verse) he talks about God and Noah here and there but the last scene where you see him talking to the Vision, it's almost like a conversation between God and Satan! (that part is my favourite scene by the way).
This movie had a lot of jobs to do like set up other marvel movies (like infinity war, civil war, black panther, thor's next movie I can't pronounce and maybe just maybe, a solo movie for hulk?) make references to them and past movies (the best one where Hawkeye makes reference to being mind controlled, I loved it) introduce other characters that are need in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and this movie did it a lot better than The Amazing Spiderman 2 did that's for sure! (Not hating, there were parts of that movie that I enjoyed as well). It certain did give us more group shots! Though I have to say that my favourite shot is around the end when the Vision, Thor and ironman all gang up on Ultron (I want that for my wallpaper) and action! The fight between hulk and the hulk buster...I cried a little inside but I really did feel it for hulk, you can hear the difference in the hulk roars when he's under scarlet witch's trance.
I didn't know much about Ultron before the movie so I had to do my research nd found out Tony didn't create him and all the different versions of him! From what I heard and read in comments, people didn't like this Ultron saying he's one dimensional, his voice was too high pitch, he was joke compared to the other versions of him and so on and so forth... To me I loved him! David Spader was the perfect choice for me! He was able to make Ultron almost human to me, for a second I almost felt it for him and was on his side! I think all the villains are going to be one dimensional because they'll be comparing them to Loki. With Loki at least he was in Thor so we had a better understanding of his background and intentions before Avengers.
NOW what I didn't like! Which I think almost every other marvel fan found odd, the love interest between Black Widow and the Hulk...WHY?! I love black widow! Strong female who can hold her own against aliens and robots gets all sappy and lovey dovey with Bruce. Ew. No. Stop. I'm not even go further with that. I didn't like that they killed off Quicksilver but I guess someone had to died, Agent Colison "died" in the avengers so I guess I kinda saw that coming (pun intended).
I just really enjoyed this movie and could go on on about Hawkeye family, Vision and the Scarlet Witch (they're actually lovers in the comic!), War Machine, found him so annoying..., Friday, and so on! but that would be a very long post and I'm sure I've already lost some people reading this so I'm going to end it here.
4.3/5 stars
Please tell me what you thought about the movie if you have seen it, if not go see it now...somehow.
Be blessed!
