Sheridan College - Second Semester
It's finally second semester! Well not really finally, first semester did go by kinda fast and it's the 4-5 week of the new semester....mmm yeah you get the point.
SO! We were warned that second semester is CRITICAL! Well at least for art fundies students because the whole point of the program is to help you build your portfolio that will get you into the program you want (I explained this more in like my very first post about school, look to there for more info) so you have a portfolio to put together (some people have two), school work on top, a job and so on. Lucky for me (yay) I have all that to deal with.
1. Computer Animation
I hate to say cause it depresses me even more but I know my work isn't good enough, and I can say this being my own biggest critic. The reason I think this is because I feel photography is suppose to do either two things, 1. tell a story, give you an idea of what is happening in the shot, to kinda make you think or 2. to capture the moment (which to me is just be a nice, well composed photo. (Please if you think other wise or have your thought's on photography please say so in the comments!)

1. Computer Animation
- I have to put together a portfolio for Sheridan's CA program which is my ultimate goal and the reason why I took this course. The stuff I mostly used for it was from my time at Durham (who knew that would come in handy...) and some stuff from this program and I am happy to say that...I GOT IN!
Geez I wish...no I just sent it in already. I prayed over it, triple checked everything including resume and my statement of intent (don't worry, had a professional look it over cause anyone who knows me and has been reading my blog knows my spelling and grammar are crap!) So that's the big thing off my plate. But my teacher said to apply everywhere cause you never know when one thing might not work out so... I also applied to the computer animation program at Seneca and have to do a portfolio which is completely different from Sheridan...actually it's almost like the one I did for Durham which is now just making me realize something...
2. Photography
- I applied to the Bachelor of photography at Sheridan and Humber College's Creative Photography program, that each require a portfolio of work, around 12 pieces and up so that's pretty cool, finish for one school can use it for the other, the only thing is I HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW!
That's where I feel my photography lies under, nice composed photos but nothing that tells a story and that's what I want. I have a lot of things that I want to capture and make in terms of photography, it's just that...well lets just say that I'm finding out the EXTREME HARD WAY that photography is not an independent job.
So basically I have less than about 2 weeks to put together a portfolio for Humber and until the end of February for Sheridan...yay
That's the pickle I'm in, there's a lot more stuff going on with me but not really sure if I want to share yet which is not like me, I guess only time will tell :)
Blessings everyone!
