Deadpool - Movie Review

Time for a more less depressing topic, DEADPOOL MOVIE REVIEW! I've seen this movie 18 times so it's about time!

!SPOILER ALERT!
but honestly you should have seen this movie already if your 18+

First let me just say that as a cast member at a theatre that played this movie, it broke my heart to see parents bring their young kids, kids not even 10 to go see this movie and not even bring them out during the first 15mins and for those who have seen it we all know why.

BUT I would like to say it did save my life the weekend it opened! The end credit scene was a tribute to the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off (if you haven't, crazy, go see this movie! Very funny! and again tons...almost complete fourth wall breaking!) Not only that but Deadpool talks about the sequel and then tells everyone not to leave their garbage because it's "a total dick move" THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Even though it didn't help fully it did help alot! People brought their garbage out and threw it out themselves saving us, the theatre cleaners the trouble.

Wooho, now that is out of my system...

First off, I loved this movie! I'm a sucker for any more that makes me laugh or gets a strong emotion out of me and this one had me on the floor laughing every like  8 mins! HONESTLY I did not really know Deadpool well, like I knew the basics. I watched the Death Battle on Youtube of him against Deathstroke and the full game movie of his PS4 game that came out recently. I'm not a big fan of X-men either so that HUGE mistake they made in X-Men Origins:Wolverine I wasn't too bothered by it until after I knew more about the character.

But this movie had everything you want in a comic movie, to me it is the almost perfect comic book character movie adaption from a comic book (duh) with an R-rating. They really played with his crazy personality alot and used it towards their advantage. There is pure fourth wall breaking and I loved that! I know a few people who didn't (they obviously didn't know the character very well). My favourite wall break was the scene when he is re-introducing us to his roommate Ale, the blind lady and he describes it as "a fourth wall break inside a fourth wall break, that's like...14 walls

My ultimate favorite! It's also one of the few references that I understood. Not that it really was...a reference...Yes I am in college and moving up there in my twenties but there are just some terms/references/slang I just don't get. One of the very first funny lines he gives while fighting in the car, which was also in the trailer, is "I've never said this but don't swallow" and later in the film "I'll take a footlong, fully loaded" I didn't get those. I assume there dirty jokes I just didn't get them.

And the references to the comic it self! Like the scene where he finally has Ajax and tells him that he looks like he got bite by a "radioactive sharpe" I died! In the comics Deadpool does refer to himself as a crossover between Ryan Reynolds and a Radioactive Sharpe so that was classic!

As funny and as entertain as the movie was...there were some plots holes. Here is my list

1. how did Vanessa survive the fall from the helicarrier...I mean whatever the last battle stage took place. Wade was able to break out of it when he set the place where he was tortured on fire, he was even able to throw his sword through it.

2. Wasn't Deadpool suppose to be the only one with the ability to know what medium he's in? I know it's not a big one but when Wade visits Sister Margaret after he finds out about his cancer, his friend Weasel give him card saying it's from a guy and that it might "further the plot" I took it as a shot for the movie to keeping going. It could have just been a saying or something else but it didn't sound it to me

3. How did Angel know who Vanessa was? Yeah Wade briefly mentioned her but Angel was nowhere nearby and had never made contact with her

4. This might be a comic book thing but, was Wade always able to recognize what medium and have a sense of pop culture? For example before he got his healing factor and as Agent Smith to not make super suit green or animated referencing to the Green Lantern movie

Honestly, these are just nitpicks I really enjoyed this movie and there's more I can't remember at this point. I can't wait to see the honest trailer for it! They're trying to get Ryan Reynolds himself to actually be in it which would be awesome! But so far, as to my knowledge, nothing yet so fingers crossed!

It's funny, the R rating was necessary, I really liked the Visual Effects (bloody as some of them were) and just enjoyed the style and feel of it. I didn't feel that it was really a dark or happy picture, liked the Deadpool rap (congrats to the guys who came up with it and got it put into the movie and the soundtrack!) There's so much more I wanna say about it but I'll wait for the DVD/Bluray release!

Please let me know if you saw the movie, if you enjoyed it, if there was any plot holes that I missed and just what you thought about it too!

I'm home from school now and have alot of projects in mind so I hope to flesh them out this summer and just enjoy life really!

Be blessed everyone!
