Book Review - Isla and the Happily Ever After
OMG! No words can describe how incredibly LATE I am with this review! The last review I did for the second book in the series, Lola and the Boy Next Door was OVER A YEAR AGO! I kid you not.
I have no words other than I am sorry. I'm so sorry.
I don't know why this book took me so long to finish when it was actually the first book in the series I wanted to read anyways! Well here is my review on Isla! Spoilers if you haven't read it.
I was really excited when I got to this for many reasons! Because it was the first one I wanted and because I enjoyed Lola and the Boy Next Door SO, SO much! At first I was really into this book, going strong, reading every day and then I just stopped. It wasn't because of school or anything I just stopped. I don't think it had to do anything with the book I believe it was just me.
Another thing that got my excited about the book is that I was wondering how they were going to connect these new character (well sorta, really just Isla not Josh) with the old ones from the other books, I was really looking forward to that and I was not disappointed! I loved how Stephanie tied them all together! Anna and St.Clair are mentioned through out the book which I expected but I was so curious about Lola and Cricket! It may seem kinda rushed at the end but I think it worked! I actually loved the feeling I got when readying about all of them, including Isla who is the new one to the group, together. I got that feeling of their chemistry and love and actually wanted to be a part of their group as well. It's almost like the group of friends I've always wanted. And the surprise engagement! OH MY GEE I did NOT see that coming! Maybe others did but I thought it was so cute and just...I loved it, LOVED!
While reading the book I didn't get the feeling that the main character, Isla was so insecure. To me she was smart, beautiful, shy and caring. So when I got close to the end and she was doubting Josh's feelings for her and saying she was "replaceable" It was a shock for me as it was the character Josh. Like don't get me wrong I could totally see her point and where she was coming from as just being a distraction for Josh but I thought maybe she was way over thinking it, freaking out and just lost it completely. I was so mad when they broke up cause it made no sense to me but I guess it was needed. Every couple needs that fight to bring them closeer than before and I guess that was it.
I can't relate to this book as much as the other one but I still loved it just as much! Because I did take such a long time reading it I know there may be a few things I'm missing so I know I'm going to have to read it over again but it's okay cause I was going to do that anyways! I love this series SO much! I am hopeless romantic but I'm more hopeless for Teen romantic novels!
I'm very upset with myself that I don't have much more to really say about this book. Don't judge it based on my review cause I'm just realizing this post is terrible...It's a good book, easy read and complements the other two very nicely! It's the perfect addition and the perfect ending to a wonderful series! One that I will read over, and over, and over again!
I do recommended this book! If you've started reading the series then you have no choice, if you haven't read the series, it will still makes sense and be good but you probably won't get that connected to the characters like others who have read the previous books.
WOOOHOO!
Honestly, I just felt so happy to finally be done reading this book! Not because it was bad but because I've been reading it...forever! I'm going to take a break from reading a series and read an individual book. My next book is...Fairytale Beginnings: A Heartwarming Romantic Comedy! I heard about this book from this girl on Instagram and bought it. I couldn't wait to start reading and now I can! It's very short so a review about that should come up sooner than later!
Stay posted!
