Sheridan Here I Come!
Hello!
I decided to change things up a bit and not do a book review post or anything about books. This post is going to be about school.
I knew this year had to be year I'm going to school because my Mom is doing well, she had a check up at the doctor and they said she's healthy. Memory is still terrible but we're working on that. She's complains about her knees but the Doc told her its just old age, I had to laugh. All in all she's great!
I was thinking a lot about what to study because I have a lot of things I am interested in like Animation, Visual Effects, Technical Production for Theatre Arts, Vet, Photography, Science and Technology. SO MUCH! But in the end it came down to two: Animation/Visual Effects and Theatre arts. I could also do photography on the side and maybe go a little further in the future.
I applied to Cambrian College in Sudbury for the Theatre Arts and to Sheridan for their Visual Design course. I got accepted to both and it was a really hard decision because I love both, did them when I was in high school and went to Durham College for Animation. But in the end I choose Sheridan.
I did apply for their Visual Design advance program but after talking to a few teachers I changed it to Art Fundamentals to build up my portfolio to apply for their Bachelor Animation program. I do have some skill but I have to be perfect to get in, this person was .5% off and didn't get in. It is a very competitive program.
I realize I could have taken a class for have the money I'm spending on the course but the class would only give me about 15% of what I need than the actual program plus while I'm there I can start making connections with the students and professors. What I also realized that I can apply to Calarts.
Calarts stands for California Institution of Arts in California. It is one of the BEST schools for animation! Disney-founded, traditional animation but they do have the technical aspect of it too. It was my dream to go there and still is. But I didn't have the courage to apply but things have changed and I want to go for what I want and if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. Move on. But just thinking about applying and a possibility of getting in makes me so excited!
So I have accepted the offer and have put down a deposit so right now I'm looking for a place. Hopefully I'll get into their Davis Campus Residence in Brampton. I was too late for the campus closer to the school plus it was more money, the brampton one is less but it's also closer to 3 Cineplex's, I'm hoping they can transfer me to a one once I start school which would be great I could work and attend school at the same time.
I really am so excited for school! I can't wait to learn things, start projects, make new friends and to live on my own! A friend once told me that when people start getting older they become their own person and it becomes hard to live with them which is exactly what's happening at my house now that we have 3 extra bodies...I'm suffocating.
I know I said this post wasn't going to be about books BUT I HAVE TO!

| Reading Off The Page |
I got Off The Page by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer! I couldn't contain my excitement! Chapters was having a free shipping no limit on your purchase so I had to! I can't wait to start reading it and the companion novel Between the Lines. After I'm finished Isla and the Happily Ever After I'm moving on to this because I haven't got all the books from The Selection Series yet or from To All The Boys I've loved Before.
I love reading.
And I can't wait for the adventures that lie before me!
Blessings everyone!
