Captain America: Civil War - Movie Review

Okay! I'm fully late on this review but at least I have no excuse to miss anything on this review!

This is your SPOILER WARNING! If you haven't watched it go read another one of my posts but lets be honest, DUH! of course you've seen this movie or at least some clips on Youtube.

Let me begin by saying that this was by far my favourite superhero movie this year! And I had a lot of choices like Deadpool, BVS, Suicide Squad, Batman: The Killing Joke, X-men: Apocalypse, Teen Titans vs The Justice League (pretty sure that was 2016), Doctor Strange...OKAY! I haven't seen Doctor Strange yet but I have a feeling I'm still gonna like Civil War more.

**Okay I wrote down what I wanted to touch on so I wouldn't get side track, yeah I'm getting more organized here!

First I just wanna say I LOVED the second trailer! I have it downloaded on my iPod. Yeah I listen to trailers, I'm weird.

Before this movie came out I made sure to brush up on my history of Civil War. There was a lot going on in the comic that I was wondering how they were going to do that in the movie. They didn't have all the characters either so I kinda worried how this movie was gonna turned out but then I saw the first trailer and had a cow. I'm actually really glad they didn't go full-comic book re-ash cause I really liked how they did it. The Russo Brothers did their own spin that did have some elements of the comic while still making it make sense in the MCU world and still be enjoyable!

I really don't care about this whole "vs" "choose a side" thing between BVS and Civil War because it really did work for this movie! While reading the comic and I was like I'm SO on caps side, then I posted a pic on Instagram saying I'm on Starks side (I had an ice cream that showed his colors while wearing a spiderman shirt, you can try and find that on my Insta page 😉). But truthfully I'm on Caps side and when you think about it this whole movie is (and yeah I get it's technically the three movie for Cap but hear me out) for example my three favourite quotes:

1. "Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, 'No, *you* move'."

2."Tony, you *chose* to do that. If we sign this, we surrender our right to choose. What if this panel sends us somewhere we don't think we should go? What if there's somewhere we need to go and they don't let us? We may not be perfect but the safest hands are still our own."

3."When you can do the things that I can, but you don't, and then the bad things happen? They happen because of you." (the "with great power comes great responsibility speech)

When you think about it, it all reflects what Caps believes in (yeah the second one was said by him but still works). People are crafty, people have hidden agendas and I'm sure no knows that better than Cap of course I'm referring to Winter Solider (the movie not the character) where Hydra was growing right in Shield. Yes, that was Shield and the accords from the United Nations but their still run by people. I watched the HISHE for this movie and died because it was so perfect! and also true. If anything Tony should probably tone it down a bit on trying to save the world cause no offence hasn't really worked out that well (Stane/Whiplash making the same suit/tech and then Ultron...)

Really liked seeing William Hurt come back as Ross though!

I also really liked the action! I heard a lot of people liking the action more in the Captain America films than others because it's more grounded, hand to hand and just real and I totally agree! It's a nice break from the CGI once in a while and I get really excited seeing Black Widow kick some butt! She did in the Avengers movie and I was glad to see she can hold her own against aliens and killer robots but there's something about how the Russo handled her and I love it!

I love actions scenes who doesn't? The only thing that bothers me once in a while is that there is a lot of cuts. Sometimes I lose what's happening or its too much, I think it helps making it more intense and dramatic but I would appreciate more longer takes (did get a few of those later on though)

Speaking of action, probably the best MUC action so far...the airport scene! the only thing I'll say is that at the beginning it looked really fake, like really well done green/blue screen fake. There was a part where Tony looked like he was on the same level as a helicopter and he wasn't flying, looked a little odd.

But other than that the airport scene. THE AIRPORT SCENE! SPIDER-MAN. BLACK PANTHER. VISION???!!!!

You know what.

Your welcome.

Black Panther and Spider-Man were just awesome in this movie! They didn't take away from this movie but added and that's what I loved! How come I didn't feel this way when they had Sandman, Venom and Hipster Green Goblin in Spiderman 3...? 😆

Now the villain, Zemo (I actually like the name),

I get the reason why he did what he did, he's even against Hydra (who wouldn't be but it's a plus for him) and I like his purpose "to see an empire fall" but I didn't like him so much. Loki is regarded as the best MCU villain but I feel it's only that way cause we've seen him in 3 movies now. And personally for me, I liked Ultron and feel he'd probably become a lot of people's favourite if given another movie.

Over all I really liked this movie and as much as I emphasis on the airport scene it actually wasn't my favourite scene in the whole movie! I have three,

1. When Wanda puts Vision in the friend hole (term used by the Honest Trailers guys, it's true though and SO funny!) To me that scene shows how powerful she is so even though Vision is on Tony's side and it seems like he has the upper hand she can easily over overcome the power of his Infinity Stone.

2. When Bucky gets possessed again and tries to go on the run and the team tries to stop him. When Stark stops the bullet AWESOME. Natasha and Sharon team up BRILLIANT. T'Challa getting in on that GENIUS.

Just awesome.

And then the scene that made me cringe in the theatre. That almost brought me to tears!

3.Tony finding out Bucky killed his parents and Cap knew. It was good. It was sad, it lead to the best battle ever! I should have seen that coming but I didn't and totally took me by surprise. I'm getting choked up just thinking about it 😭

This review is already getting long so I'm just gonna end it by saying, IT WAS AWESOME! Great action scenes and also a good story. I was kinda hoping for lasting stakes in this one but maybe they're not doing that cause there's gonna be a huge one coming later down road.

Highly recommended and worth seeing once every 3 months 😄

Probably noticed the new layout by now. Thought it was time to spice it up and I have to thank Sora Templates for that. Nothing fancy just simple and I really like it, hopefully you do too. I'm trying to be more frequent with my posts. Not sure when or what the next one will be so...surprise when it gets here.

Also a new name/title. #hardknocklife had been my little hashtag that I've used for years and it was very relevant to my life. But now I'm trying something different, I'll still have some of the same content.
Welcome to INTRODUCING ME. This is me, what you read in the posts is what you get and trying to make some changes in my life. I was inspired after listening to Nick Jones "Introducing me" from Camp Rock 2 (don't laugh, it's a good song, the movie...another story).

So without further ado, Introducing me.
