I Got The Job!

Isn't the same title I used for another post...when I got the job at Cineplex?

But yes you read that right! I got the job that I had the online interview in my last post and I've been working there for over a week now!

I am a junior compositor for Rocket Science VFX in Toronto!

I still can't believe it!
I should type it again to make sure,

I am a junior compositor at Rocket Science VFX in Toronto!

It's so funny how it all happened. When I started school I was so determined not to leave without a job. I did not want to go back home or talk to my parents without giving them some good news and with all the resumes and cover letters I had given out, I really was starting to lose hope.

The day my parents came down for my graduation however, was the day I got the email regarding the position and an interview! I panicked and was so excited!

The day I was to leave to go back home, I got the call as soon as I was about to head out the door of my apartment! I was so overjoyed and just wanted to cry!

All those overnights, missing events and just feeling like a disappointed only to be proven wrong and that is wasn't for nothing.

My family met me at the airport like I was some refugee and I broke the news to them right there! It was honestly a moment I will NEVER forget! I only wish my Dad was also there.

So here I am, a VFS alumni, and already 2 weeks into my professional career!

I can't believe it. I honestly thought this would never happen for me ever! Which is cliché but come on, if you've been following my blog you know the struggles and tribulations. I truly believe that if it can happen for me, ME! It can happen for anyone! And the great thing about is I'm just getting started!

I just feel so blessed and I don't want to keep it to myself so I'm making it my duty this year to pass on the blessing and stop talking and not doing! This year is all about action! (also I'm bigger this year thanks to 365 days of sitting at a computer desk in Vancouver and need get rid of a few pounds...don't judge me)

I'm starting of with my family. My oldest nephew now apparently wants to go into film editing and while it's not my forte, I wanna help and support him as much as I can. And also because he not doing much it and I believe he needs that push.

"you've got the dream but not the drive..."

**A+ if you know what song that ling if from, your awesome! and comment it down below!**

I'm gonna keep this post short because I've been writing for a week between my phone and laptop. It takes me 2 hrs to get to work and back so I have a lot of time to think, read and reflect.

Speaking of reading, I'm currently reading Geekerella! I love it so much! I saw it in a Chapters in Vancouver and so glad I picked it up. A simple enough read and below my age group but it's the right mix of geek/nerdiness and fairytale. Plus the book is (my personal favourite colour) perfect shade of baby blue!

I'm almost done it and when I am, I am defiantly doing a review and then I'll start on the long overdue...It. Well maybe...now that I'm home I realized there's a few more book I haven't touch yet XD

I'll finish with this, if you're reading this and currently in the position that I was in or maybe even one a little different, school with no job, job with no post education, reject after reject, DO NOT FREIT. You are in good hands and if you're reading this, you are still alive and still have time to change your situation if you want to. It will be hard but will make it all the more rewarding. FIND YOU, DO YOU, LOVE YOU.

One thing I've learned from the Japanese version of Boys Over Flowers, Hana Yori Dango, is that we are all under the same sky no matter what part of the world we live in. You are not alone and you can do it!
