Baywatch (2017) - Movie Review
I can't believe I'm doing this, a movie review...on Baywatch....again did not see this coming. But I do have to give myself a pat on the back for the back-to-back movie reviews!
Because I'm weird I was watching reviews about this movie before I went to see it. Apparently it was rated R in some theaters, I don't think the ones in Canada though. The movie had a rating of 14 and I thought that was kinda generous considering all the swearing, and I'm talking swearing plus F bombs.
I was actually surprised but apparently the parents that brought their young ones weren't since they stayed for the entire thing...
There isn't much I wanna talk about with this movie BUT. THERE. IS. ONE.
And has a future VFX artist (fingers crossed) I can't let this slide...
THE GREEN SCREEN! WAS SOOOO BAD!
I mean...I don't understand why for some scenes, it could have be done practically. The scene where Dwyane and Zac were on a boat on the water spying on the bad guys, WHY WAS THAT NOT DONE FOR REAL??!!
And if your gonna have your first "big action" in the movie CG it better be good CG! Omg! That whole boat on fire in the water scene was...omg...I can't...it looked so bad, totally unrealistic and sad really.
I hate to see good talent on terrible plates...
I also felt that the music was kinda much, like at the beginning they went through like 3-5 different songs in the first 10 mins of the film. Maybe it's longer but it didn't feel like it.
I feel I have to tone it down because this movie really wasn't taking itself too seriously so there's no need to get too worked up over it.
There was only one good thing about this movie...and I think we all know what/who that so I'm not gonna beat around the bush...
Thank you.
I'm not even gonna say Zac, because I totally loved Dwyane better. Personally if pared up in a more joking way the only two people I've liked so far with him are Kevin Hart and Samuel L. Jackson.
There was a girl at the beginning who I thought was gonna be so badass, but then turned into exactly the type I find most annoying, but at least there was this one kickass girl.
Well kickass good girl.
Yeah, the villain in the movie, a woman.
Plan: real estate. Yeah that again.
She was pretty cool, definitely someone I wouldn't wanna mess with! She had a great line around the end where Zac called her "crazy" and she was like if "I was man you would call me driven" or something like that.
I thought that was funny because I felt man or woman, still be called crazy but points for delivery.
I guess what I'm trying to say here about this movie is, go see it for the Rock (but you were probably gonna do that anyways) he has some get lines in there! hilarious!
The acting was okay...I guess. Nothing too big, sometimes it did seem a little much but...oh well I guess, it's what we got and I guess who am I to judge...
The action was okay I guess minus the green screen which was straight up TERRIBLE!
But I'mma drop it for now cause I'm in class. Yep, I'm call writing another review in class. Who's bad?
I just recently watched Logan (finally) was told I should do a review and I should, about time I review a good movie
We'll see😉
SPOILER WARNING IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN BAYWATCH! Honestly.... I don't even think I'll talk about spoilers but just in case, you never know
First, I still can't believe I saw this movie! I never watched the TV show so I really don't know the back story behind this movie that apparently isn't doing too well at the box office and neither is Pirates...I wonder why....*cough*remakes, remixes*cough*
Honestly, I just wanted to get from in front of my computer screen doing work...by going to an even BIGGER screen, plus I wanted to watch something funny and Snatched wasn't gonna do it.
