Justice League - Movie Review

I'm back! Well sorta, Justice League is finally out and I saw it so it's like how could I NOT review it!

Warning! This review will have the big spoilers in the movie so unless you've been living under a rock and have miraculously dodge all spoilers by this point, lucky duck, and still haven't seen the movie then I suggest you don't read this post 😞 but come back when you do!

When I got older I realized I grew up more on DC than marvel, the batman/superman animated tv show, teen titans, DC animated movies! That was me and my brother so if this movie came out the same time as the Avengers, I would have been more excitied for this movie! And I hate the fact that the only reason I was excited was because I wasn't going to do work or think about demo reel for 2 hours.

DCEU has done a pretty terrible job leading up to this movie. I read a tweet saying one of the reasons this movie is "bombing" at the box office is because they teased this movie last year with Batman v Superman and they didn't deliver so this movie is kinda like a sequel to the disappointment we got last year and honestly...at least to me...it's kinda true. I wanted to be excited for this movie but it wasn't there but alas I saw it anyways and I'm going to see it again...why?

Because, it wasn't that bad!

If you can look past the un even tone and moments where a character does/says something that seems kinda odd, this movie is actually really enjoyable! I only wish I could have saw it with my brother or someone who also read the comics, watched the tv shows and the movies because there is so much referenced from those it's awesome!

I guess that kinda shows you who this movie is really for, the fans. If that's all they set out to do, I guess they accomplished it. Definitely not well but they got it out.

I have to say my favorites were Cyborg and Aquaman. I liked Wonder Woman, she was great, Flash wasn't as funny as I thought he would be. Like nothing he did really made me LOL for days which I found disappointing cause I was really looking forward to his character and that was all I heard before I saw the movie, was how Flash was great and Ezra killed it.

I also wanted to see more if his superspeed, I thought that was a let down. I didn't care that the speed force was blue, heck! it's blue in the animated movie, Flashpoint Paradox! I just wanted more of that so badly! Like it looked amazing in the trailer and I was like "please, please more of that!" but...budget I guess 😅

Also maybe I'm just too hung up on the TV Flash. The scene in the movie where Barry goes to visit his Dad didn't hold up. I'm a very emotional person and appreciate those moments of comfort, wisdom and heart and I didn't get that. If his Dad had call him "slugger" like he does in the TV show I probably would have cried though.

Aquaman was great!! I loved him and I didn't think I would. He was surprisingly funny! I didn't expect that.  I really only wanted to see him for one reason and one reason only. To see those sick underwater shots! And they were sick!

No not that shot!

though that's not bad...

that one!

And this one!
I wanted more of her! She was so badass even though she does get her butt kick, its the effort that counts.

When I saw those shots, all I was thinking was SOMEONE MAKE A LIVE ACTION VERSION OF DISNEY THE LITTLE MERMAID HAPPEN! It can be done!

Like she's basically DC's version of Ariel in this shot...
So pumped for his solo movie, it's gonna be awesome!

And Cyborg!

now I don't know this actor, I heard he has a broadway background and Broadway is very expressive and out there, like animations and I wish I saw more of that in this film. As much as I did like him he was just too gloomy for me and I hate to say that cause I feel like it makes me sound like an ungrateful fangirl.

I'm just used to Cyborg pumped and ready for battle and shouting "BOOYAH!"
Yes I'm referring to this version of Cyborg,

The OG Teen Titans. And yes we did get that around the end of the film, heck he does say "BOOYAH" and does physical change design wise but we got that so late which I guess makes sense but I wanted more of that Cyborg so much, so that does make me excited for his solo film as well.

I had a feeling Batman wasn't going to be a favorite for me. I loved his shots! Like when he's hiding in the back or crouch down like an animal, I LOVED those shots!

sorry they don't have the shots I'm looking for, I only saw this one so it'll have to do 😅
but other than that I thought he was fine. One thing I didn't like and understand is why he didn't help Martha Kent pay for her house?! LOL I know it's weird but I mean, he helped pay for the funeral, saved her, has such a strong response to her name and "friendship" with Clark, you would have thought he would keep tabs on her to make sure she's well... but oh well....I'm not a screen writer...

Speaking of Superman....

HELL YEAH HE'S IN THIS MOVIE! but...oh my goodness...I wish they would just give his guy  a good director and a good script and just see Henry KILL it! That's how I feel. I feel like he has everything to be an amazing superman but just hasn't had the chance to really shine. (Sorry but Zod stole Man of Steel for me)

So a friend of mine who is madly in love with Henry frequently sends me photos he post on IG and he has this mustache thing going on that I'm not fond of. Apparently that is need for a movie he's doing...Mission Impossible???

not only that, because of certain circumstances that happened behind the film, he was called back for re-shoots but couldn't shave so they had to DIGITALLY REMOVE HIS MUSTACHE! I knew something looked off about this guy and now I know why! I'm sorry, this is hilarious!

As a student studying VFX, I know that's not easy and especially with all the complex stuff he does in the film...gezz...

but anyways!

This man comes back, and pretty pissed. But it's such a well...what's the word I'm looking for....well acted come back that it doesn't really seem like he came back from the dead. Like I wish he kinda panicked a little and kind lost control of maybe some new powers we eventually see him use....IIICCCCEEE BRREEEAATTTHHH!!!

But nope....he eventually snaps from crazy sups to love crazy lois sups.

Whats odd is that dirt rising at the end of BVS means NOTHING in this film! Because...you'll see...the way he comes back is all zombie style...

It's kinda like everything we saw in BVS that lead us to movie, really didn't hold up. It kinda felt like a marvel film in a way that it didn't really seem like that was much at stake.

Speaking of much at STAKE

This CGI piece of crap! Yes I'm mad! I did not like Steppenwolf at all! To me he was just so boring, like again, I felt like nothing was at stake. He was not a threat! It seemed like he was gonna be this great threat and that he would lead to bigger and greater villains/things but in the end it was like he was just there to reference Easter eggs and other things that the fans wanted hear/see like Green Lanterns and Darkseid!

I just wanted so much more and didn't get it.

Honestly I'm hearing all this talk about a Synder cut and I'm waiting for it. I preferred the ultimate edition of BVS and, let's face it so did everyone else, to the theatrical one so I'm hoping there's one for this movie.

...

Wow...Looking back at this review...it seems like there's more I didn't like than stuff I did...Mmmmm that wasn't how this was suppose to go...

Well I'm going to see this movie again so I feel there's gonna be a few things thats gonna change but I feel like that pretty much it really

I've seen other movies than this since It. I've seen Thor, not really sure if I wanna review that, Murder on the Orient Express, Daddy's Home 2, Blade Runner, Kingsmen 2, Logan Lucky, etc. Kinda late to review them now.

All that between while finalizing my demo reel which is always and YES! you read right! Finalizing! Well if you call still rendering finalizing when I should be fixing roto shapes and color corrections...but almost there!

I'm definitely gonna post my demo reel when I'm done and also I'm gonna do a  post about school but I guess makes sense to do it after graduation. But anyways I'm gonna get back to work, I feel my next post might be a review for Hugh Jackman next film, The Greatest Showman! I saw the first trailer and I can't get it out of my head! I'm just so inspired and encouraged while watching it!

I love it so much I'm leave it right here for you to watch!

watch it, love it, see it when it comes out

Stay blessed guys!
